Why "Ohm" in OhmIQ? 

Ohm, commonly abbreviated to Ω, is the unit used to measure electrical resistance. It received its name from Georg Simon Ohm, born in Germany in 1789. In 1825, Ohm published his very first paper regarding his examinations of electromagnetic force; it was poorly received at the time. It wasn't until 1827 that he would publish a book that would detail his total theory of electricity. 

Throughout his experiments, Ohm defined the fundamental relationship between voltage, current, and resistance. He concluded that the amount of current that flows through a material is proportional to its voltage divided by its resistance, giving us the equation of Ohm’s law.
