Ohmic technology, in the broader sense, refers to technologies and devices that operate based on Ohm's Law, which relates voltage, current, and resistance in an electrical circuit. Ohm's Law was formulated by Georg Simon Ohm in 1827, meaning that ohmic technologies have been around for nearly two centuries. It is fundamental to the development of numerous technologies and applications in the electrical and electronic fields.

Innovation & Collaboration

The innovation team starts working on a Proof of Concept (PoC). In most cases we do this in collaboration with industry experts who can provide us with far more detailed requirements and market knowledge.

Integration

We turn the POC into a prototype to integrate into the product of our development partner. Generally this involves a payment of 150-250 thousand dollar by the development partner. In case we go all the way to a licensing deal, this “commitment fee” is an initial downpayment. If we don’t, this money compensates for our services.

Implementation

Implementation

The full licensing fee starts, while bringing the integrated prototypes to manufacturing product level. This can be either with the licensee or with an Authorized Manufacturer Distributor (AMD), depending on who will do manufacturing.

Account Management

Handling the accounts with the licensees and potentially AMD’s, including multi-level audits. Not just financial audits, but also quality audits to ensure the quality reputation of Ohmiq remains intact.

Scale elimination – by eliminating lime scale build-up the Ohmiq technology reduces scale-driven warranty events, overall service costs (including the need to descale) and extends the useful life of the product. By improving product reliability, brand image, health are enhanced.


Time – Ohmiq technology drastically reduces time to temperature and eliminates the need to maintain tanks at temperature, resulting in further energy consumption savings.


Energy Efficiency – Ohmiq heating is 6% more energy efficient in transforming energy into heat resulting in reduced electricity consumption & cost on a sustained basis.


Precision - Ohmiq technology eliminate the need to provide a “margin of error” and precisely delivers the exact temperature requirements.


Moreover, OhmIQ technology reduces the physical footprint of the water heating function and eliminates the need for a low water cutoff. This will enable value engineering gains and reduce the shipping weight of the product (Plastics vs stainless also gives you a clear thermal advantage).
