WHAT IT IS
What is ohmic heating equipment?
Ohmic heating equipment passes electric current directly through the liquid being heated, generating heat from the liquid's own electrical resistance. Because there is no metal heating element, ohmic heating equipment delivers instant heat without scaling, eliminates descaling cycles, and reaches operating temperature far faster than traditional resistive boilers.
OhmIQ's Ohmic Array Technology (OAT) takes this principle further by arranging electrodes in a precision array and rapidly switching their polarity. The result is heat that is uniform, controllable, and free of the limescale buildup that cripples traditional electric heaters. OhmIQ licenses OAT to OEMs and equipment manufacturers worldwide.

How OhmIQ equipment differs from traditional heaters
Traditional electric heaters use a metal element that scales up over time, requires periodic descaling, and loses efficiency as the element degrades. Ohmic heating equipment from OhmIQ heats the liquid directly with no element to corrode — meaning no scaling, instant heat, faster response times, and significantly higher long-term energy efficiency. Tests with coffee machines have shown approximately €980 (~US$1,140) in annual electricity savings compared to a traditional boiler.
